The Sauna door must open out and it can have no lock. It should be only 24" wide to prevent unnecessary loss of heat and warpage. The door should not open directly into a spa area, as chlorinated humidity will rust the hinges and warp the door. Do not put a handicapped door (36") on a Sauna unless the room is large enough to accommodate the movement of a wheelchair, with proper ramp and grab bar (The metal wheelchair will get hot and will be uncomfortable for the operator. An attendant is necessary when a Sauna is intended for handicapped usage. E-Mail us for design assistance if needed).

Solid Glass Door

You can also upgrade the door to solid glass. This door does not have any wood rails but is a solid slab of tempered safety glass 8mm thick in a gray or bronze tint (seasonal availability). Door is also available with custom order in green or satin tint or with two designs on satin.  A archtop bronze tint can also be ordered (custom door orders may take 2-3 months to fill). Solid glass door is needed if sauna opens into a high-humidty room such as a pool room, or when it is aesthetically desired. It is also a desirable door for high-use commercial saunas, for the door does not warp, twist, or shrink over time, as the standard door might in heavy use. Door jambs are Pine with extensions of interior paneling species.  Doors are available in 7x19, 7x21, 8x19, 8x20, 8x21, 9x19, 9x20, 9x21 (not all designs available in all sizes - sizes nominal)

Standard Doors

Our standard Finlandia Sauna doors are manufactured with solid wood rails, finished with V.G. Fir lamination. The 16"x60" hermetically sealed double glass is tempered for safety. Clear glass is standard.  Standard door is 24" with a R.O. of 26"x82".  Door can also be custom ordered in 28", 30", 32", and 36" (lead-time may change).

Exclusive Glass Option

Our exclusive glass options have been custom designed and etched by an artist. When ordering this option, you have a choice of our unique Sauna design in positive or negative image, or a choice of our beautiful scenic design in the Mt. Hood image or the Multnomah Falls image. Etchings are available for the 24" door size only but some custom sizes may be special ordered.  Some custom etchings also available but not shown at the time such as "Old Sauna" and "Sailboat"..

Hinge is determined by standing outside Sauna room, facing the door. Order FGD-R is the hinges are on the right side. Order FGD-L is the hinges are on the left side. FGD-l and FGD-R come complete with threshold, hinges, ball catch, and 2 wooden pulls. Standard jamb is 4 3/4" and there is an extra charge for jambs over 5 1/2". Standard Sauna doors are 24"x80" with an RO (rough opening) of 26"x82" (min.). Also available are 30"x80" doors with RO of 32"x82", and 36"x80" (ADA handicapped) with RO of 38"x82". Occasionally there is a supply of solid glass doors (no wood rails) - call for stock and sizes.
